Shadow Work
a
Two-Day Workshop with
Ian
Watson
in
Cairo
Ian
will be presenting another two-day workshop on this
fascinating subject. The term 'shadow' was introduced
into psychology by Carl Jung, and refers to certain
aspects of the psyche which we are mostly unconscious of
yet powerfully affected by in our daily lives. The shadow
has both negative and positive qualities which have been
repressed or denied, and becoming aware of your own
shadow-nature has a powerful transformative effect on
your whole life.
One way of discovering how the shadow is influencing your
life is to pay attention to your dreams. Another way is
to look in the mirror of your relationships with other
people, and this is perhaps the most obvious, and yet
also the most difficult area to encounter your shadow.
We also reveal our shadow through non-verbal
communication and 'slips of the tongue', when we say what
we really mean without ever meaning to say it! In this
workshop we will explore all of these areas and much more
besides, enabling you to gain greater insight and
awareness into the unconscious forces that are running
your life.
There
are many benefits of shadow work,
including:
• Discover how and why certain people can 'push your
buttons' and upset you more easily than others
• Realize how your shadow qualities get 'projected' onto
other people who then reflect them back to you
• Recognize how and why you have repeatedly attracted
similar kinds of people into your life
• Learn how your 'family shadow' allocates certain traits
and tendencies to specific family members
• Find hidden resources and undeveloped potentialities
within yourself
• Take full responsibility for your life and empower
yourself to change the relationships or circumstances
that are no longer working for you
• Resolve conflicts & handle 'emotionally charged'
situations in new ways
• Transform difficult relationships with friends,
colleagues and family members
• Overcome destructive patterns of behaviour and
relationship
• Reduce stress and release 'emotional excess baggage'
• Increase peace of mind, inner freedom and creativity
Ian's workshops are not only informative
but also
transformative,
providing you with the skills and tools you need to
engage with the material and participate fully in your
own personal development.
